Education, Otherwise Than At School, done properly

EOTAS (Education, Otherwise Than At School) packages are arranged and funded by the local authority, under Section 61 of the Children and Families Act, for children and young people with an EHCP for whom school or college placement isn’t appropriate. We’re commissioned to deliver the tuition and support that make up the package, built around the individual pupil.

What we offer

  • Private tuition (Primary to A Level)
  • 1:1 mentoring, life skills
  • Medical tuition
  • Reintegration support
  • Online / virtual tuition

Who this is for

Pupils with an EHCP who, for whatever reason, cannot attend a mainstream or special school, including pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or EBSA, and pupils who’ve fallen out of education and need a structured way back in.

Compliance & Vetting

  • Safer Recruitment | Every placement follows Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE 2026) statutory guidance.
  • DfE Voluntary Standards | Where relevant, we work to the Department for Education’s voluntary standards for non-school settings.
  • Enhanced DBS Verification | Every tutor holds an Enhanced DBS check with barred list checks, kept current through the Update Service, alongside verified right to work and proper references.
  • Real-Time Attendance Tracking | Same-day attendance updates go straight to your school’s safeguarding lead.

Funding

EOTAS packages are funded through central local authority High Needs blocks. We’re commissioned to deliver the tuition and support within the package the local authority has already arranged.
