Before an educator or specialist is ever placed in your school or setting , they go through a multi-layered process:
- Safer recruitment | Every placement follows Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) statutory guidance.
- Enhanced DBS verification | Every candidate holds an Enhanced DBS check with barred list checks, kept current through the Update Service.
- Background Screening | Every candidate undergoes double professional reference checks, from their current role if they’ve been there 2 years or more, or from every workplace within the last 2 years if they’ve moved roles. We also carry out overseas police checks where applicable and right-to-work verification.
- Safeguarding Training | Every candidate completes safeguarding and child protection training, with regular mandatory refreshers to keep it current in line with KCSIE 2026.
- Academic & Professional Vetting | Every candidate goes through a face-to-face competency interview, alongside full qualification verification.
- Holistic Matching | Every referral is assessed individually, academic need, personal circumstances, SEND and trauma-informed requirements and how the pupil is likely to respond to a tutor’s approach, not just their qualifications.
